Your brain on drugs?

posted Friday, 18 May 2007

In this article: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/05/070516191916.htm  it states that a new study is investigating "the brain's own marijuana" called endocannabinoid for stress and anxiety. It says that "it's widely accepted that one of the major reasons we use and abuse marijuana is to relieve stress." (Hmm, oh really.) Abused? By abused, do they mean that we may puff a little, get the munchies and chill out in front of the t.v.? Furthermore, the article states that marijuana cannot be legally used to treat stress, anxiety, and other mood disorders "because it's highly addictive". OMG. I can't believe they used that as an excuse. Aren't most prescription drugs for anxiety "highly addictive"? And lets not even mention alcohol, cigarettes and other "addictive" substances that ARE LEGAL and easily sold to minors (that end up dead from hazing, driving under the influence, etc.).

So, it's going to take $1.7 million dollars and five years for these scientists to tell us that a joint will make us happy and calm .... something we all already knew, but they can't prescribe it to us because it's evil and illegal.

SAVE UP - you might be on your prozac and xanex longer than you think. :)

~peace~
